However, with this setting the volume of the output is very, very low. I have to turn the amp up to almost full volume to reach a "normal" level. If I switch to "Fixed" level on the Line out volume, the level is fine - but then I can only adjust volume on the amplifier, not on the Sonos controllers.

I really don't understand the problem, surely the volume control is self-explanatory? The volume is so low that even when the Amp is at almost full volume, the sound is barely at mid level volume.Already have an account? Samsung LED TV: How to Fix No Sound Issue

Have searched various forums and not heard this issue tied to anything with this generation of smart hub. I have verified that the Samsung One Connect is configured for optical cable out, and is transmitting Dolby Digital.

Not familiar with the specific unit, but I'd check to see if the optical output has a setting for "fixed" rather than "variable".

You shouldn't be using the Samsung equipment to control the volume, it should be a single line level input, which you then control via the sonos.Visit our Blog to catch up on the latest Community news, tips for your Samsung products and much more! The Future changes shape! Meet the new Samsung smartphone! I have just bought a 32 inch Samsung NS Television. My home cinema system Sony is Aux cable so I bought a Toslink Optical Audio converter but the maximum volume now available through my home cinema system is only average not loud at all.

Why is this and how do I fix the problem? Weirdly if I do a sound test on my TV setting the tone it uses to test is really really loud. However the volume for the TV programmes etc is low?

I have had a look into this and it appears that the TV doesn't have any control over the optical audio converter. Have you tried to use a different one or contacted the manufacturer to provide you with more information about why this happens?

We meant a different converter. Are you able to do that or try the converted with any other devices? Well not really I have already spent a lot of money on this TV the cables and the converter.

Very low volume from Optical Line Out

The converter is extremely well review ed so I doubt it is that tbh. I can also see that this model is not an EU one, so I would encourage you to contact our colleagues in your area to provide you with further information. It is an EU television. I am in the United Kingdom. This is a brand new Samsung TV and something is holding the volume back need help with this matter. Samsung can we get a proper solution to this issue please.

I bought your television I need loud audio. I've got exactly the same problem with my QE Low volume to my soundbase and have to turn up the volume high to get any sound out of it.Visit our Blog to catch up on the latest Community news, tips for your Samsung products and much more! samsung tv optical out low volume

Meet the new Samsung smartphone! I have found though, that the output volume is not what expected when using a signal derived from the TV satellite program from internal TV decoder, Netflix app on the TV, Youtube app on the TV, etc. I can increase the volume to 50 and the sound level increases as you would expect, but from 50 to the level hardly changes, and even at the maximum volume the sound level is not what you would expect from a W soundbar, infact it is still quite low.

Now I know it is the TV that has the audio problem and not the soundbar for the following reasons If I use the TV speakers instaead of the soundbar, I still have the problem with volume increasing OK up to to 50 level, but from 50 to there is hardly any increase.

If I use the spotify app on the TV, the sound level does go loud. If I play the sound from the soundbar the sound goes really loud just like all the reviews say it does. And this is the real test that shows it is a TV problem. The TV has the latest firmware, and I've gone through all the sound settings on the TV but I can't find anyway to fix the problem.

I've found other people complaining about low volume from the soundbar on the internet, but I think it is the TV and not the soundbar that is the problem, I am assuming that all the people who are complaining have the soundbar connected to a Samsung TV. Has anyone else come across this problem or does anyone have anything for me to try before I take the TV back? Go to Solution. I'm not sure whether this will help however I have just bought a mu and the sound on day one was fine but after that it's been really low.

I've had to have the TV set to maximum and even then it was difficult to hear things and not as loud as it should be on maximum. I tried to change all kinds of settings and no luck, the sound from the menu selections were really loud when volume was at so I knew the speakers were fine, but every other source of volume output on the TV was poor. I selected the TV and chose 'mirror view'. The volume shot up instantly and now I have it set at 16 as opposed to View solution in original post.

After ajusting the settings which are sometimes reset for unknown reasonsthe sound is suddenly becoming very high, and all related movie effects were sudenly distincly very audible. Seems like Samsung have a serious problem with the way they are outputting the audio level from their TV's. Seems others on the SONOS forum are having exactly the same problem as me see link belowbut with different TV models, which make me think it is a system wide problem, and makes it pointless connecting an external sound device to a Samsung TV if you can never get the maximum volume from it.Deals Amazon deals Bargain threads Classified adverts.

No other form of audio out present. I may purchase a sound bar of some description, but wonder how the optical audio out works?

If I connect it to an optical in on sound bar, does the volume control on the TV control the volume of the sound bar? I don't really want yet another control to faff with! I would like to consider a sound bar that could also have an audio in from my HiFi amp to make use of the probable bass box on the sound bar, but my HiFi amp only has a fixed line output I believe.

I also would consider taking an output from the sound bar to my HiFi amp if this was possible? So: 1: Is the optical out audio level adjusted by the TV? Thanks in advance! The output would be fixed the same as a line level output.

The device it is outputting to would be responsible for amplifying the audio and regulating that amplification in order to control the volume. You are not going to be able to connect your soundbar to inputs on your stereo hifi. Yudkin Distinguished Member.Menu Menu. Search Everywhere Threads This forum This thread.

I have also added an ARC Sound converter to try to help the situation with the Optical connection but it has made no difference. Go to Solution. Try turning up the volume on the external devices. This may sound like a no-brainer, but it is possible the external devices that are connected is limiting the volume.

Try setting the TV volume to View solution in original post. I can understand your frustration. Have you tried another Optical cord? Have not tested another optical fiber since when I go into the Configuration and do a sound test from the TV I get a much higher acceptable level in volume. I just wonder if there is an internal setup menu or engineering screen I can access that can offer some level adjustment that is being limited?

It seems that everything is working fine, but the listening volume should be able to be louder than it is. Have you tried checking for any available updates? If none appear, we would recommend updating via a USB flash drive.

Thank you for the Firmware update. I have applied this and I can't really say it helped in any way. The very odd thing is, if I go into the Self Diagnosis area and do a sound test, the volume level at the same listening level is extreme as I would expect the TV sound to be normally.

But when I switch back to the cable box or any input, the level is back to the very low level. I see this same result either way I use it. This TV is really impressive, I just can't get the sound to be as it should be.

Love you more mp3 download

After further testing after the FW update, since this still wasn't making sense, I belive I have located the problem piece, it is actually my cable box that seems to be the weak link on that Audio, which is still not making sense, but after changing it with another unit and removing any ARC converters, I seem to have acceptable Volume levels to remote speakers and to my receiver for the full system when needed.

I thank you for the information and pointing me to the FW update as well to remove any and all issues. I fully agree with you on the crazy as it seems, I did try that as well but it seems I have one Cable Box that is just off from the Audio standpoint.

Even when I use the RCA outs directly to my receiver there was something wrong, this was my thread that I started chasing to define it was the cable box. Sign In. Turn on suggestions.
